Hearthstone: Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion turns heroes undead with 135 new cards

The add-on also introduces new single-player missions, launching in August

Today during the Hearthstone Championship Tour event in Shanghai, Blizzard announced its next expansion for the digital card game: Knights of the Frozen Throne.

As with most major Hearthstone expansions, it will add 135 new cards to the game, but this marks the first time in the game’s history where Blizzard has released two full-size expansions in a row. Star Citizen’s procedural planets flaunted in new video

Star Citizen’s latest Around the Verse video focuses, primarily, on the sophisticated procedural generation that’s being used to create the enormo-space adventure’s many planets and moons. In the video, the occasionally slightly boring technical talk is supported by some lovely footage of science fiction planets, from barren desert worlds to more lush environments, with a variety of ecosystems on each.

Bluehole’s Early Access battle royale shooter climbs into second place on Steam, at least for a while.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has had quite the successful launch in Early Access, selling over four million copies in its first three months and attracting enough players to keep it firmly wedged into the number three spot on Steam’s Top Games list by playercount. The only games above it regularly have been Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Payday 2 (the last of which gave away five million free copies last month, rocketing it up the list—it currently sits at number seven).

Dead Cells’ combat evolved from tower defense games and Team Fortress 2

Dead Cells’ producer says the rogue-lite started with a tower defense aspect before influences from TF2 and fighting games seeped in.

Dead Cells may often be compared to Dark Souls for its challenging encounters and exciting combat, but in an article from Gamasutra, producer Steve Filby revealed that the excellent rogue-lite was originally a tower defense game, something that he says is evident in many of the game’s skills.
